- I've been married for 11 years to John, my best friend and 'the one' who still makes my heart flutter when he gives me that special look. I feel so fortunate to be a stay at home mom to our two sons, Nathan, 10 and Owen, 7 who are not only my greatest joy, but also seem to be the source of the many grays that are appearing in my hair due to their 'no fear' attitude! The boys keep my life very active with sports, cub scouts, and skateboarding. We feel God has called us to add to our family through adoption, and He has opened our hearts to the special need children in China. On Feb. 28, 2009 we were matched with our precious daughter, Sophie, who is 3 and is waiting for us in Beijing. We can't wait to bring her home!

I let Mya sit on my lap while we watched the video - I wish I could ask her if she remembers ShaYu - Sophie - Cheryl. After she watched the video & I showed her Sophie's picture on the calendar she said "Xi Hu" and wanted to see her little foster brothers' picture :) Yes, she has the attention span of a typical 3 year old!

Congratulations! She is adorable. I am looking forward to following your story as it continues to unfold. She is just 10 months younger than our Lily. Since my travel and our experience is all pretty recent, don't hesitate to ask us anything!

I just stumbled upon your blog and was SOOO THRILLED to see Cheryl from New Day's page is getting a forever family. My best friend is in the process of adopting Brett who is Cheryl's playmate. Whenever I go to the New Day blog or page, I am forever talking to Brett, Cheryl, and Judson. Congratulations, you very lucky family!!!

bet you had so much fun putting that slideshow togetehr! i can't believe how many photos you have of her!!! what a blessing! i love her little noce...and the way they style her hair so many different ways. one of my favorite pics is where she is eating noodles and has some red hairbows...so cute!

She is BEAUTIFUL and all the pictures are just AWESOME. She has such a gorgeous little smile!!!!I love the picture of her eating a popcicle! She looks like such a happy, happy little girl. She will be blessed to have you as her family. And, I love the name Sophie!!! :)
