2 weeks from today we'll be landing in Beijing:-)
2 weeks and 1 day from today we'll be meeting Miss Sophie:-))))
School's out tomorrow for the summer!!
Nathan did make the LL All Star District baseball team...yes, he's PUMPED!!
I feel like I'm really starting to get things pulled together for the trip. I have all the necessary gifts, paperwork, plans and provisions for the boys while we're away, and I've started to pack Sophie's things. As for me....I'm someone who does most of the packing the day before....never understood how someone can pack weeks in advance, unless you have two separate wardrobes, extra toiletries, makeup etc,.... I do however, make pretty detailed lists in advance and I check things off as I put them in the suitcase. Works for me:-).
My neighbor Terry (the one who is putting together Sophie's 100 wishes quilt) made Sophie another quilt that I'm decorating her room around. Here's a picture of it ( the actual quilting on top still needs to be done;-)....
Here's Sophie's room before...
Her room was the nursery, and has been used as a guest room for the past few years. It's obvious to see, all I did was get rid of the crib and rocker and put in a double bed. Owen's quilt(yes, made by Terry) is still hanging on the wall with the matching curtains. Sad, I know, but hey, the bed is comfortable;-)!!!!
I'll be posting the rest of the room transformation before we leave:-)
As for my emotional state lately...well, other than waking up at 4:00am most mornings, with things racing through my head, I'm doing OK, all things considered. I'm getting really excited AND nervous at the same time, with all the 'what ifs' filling my thoughts. We do have H1N1 in the community, and I'm just praying we all stay well. The last time we saw Sophie on sk*ype, she showed us her calendar page. She's able to count the boxes, and she has a huge smiley face on the day we are to meet her. PLEASE say a prayer this all goes as planned...I really can't wait to hold my baby!!!!!
As always, God is good!!!

Oh Tami, I am so excited for you. I remember so well all the feelings you are having just before we traveled to get Mylee. Just remember that Sophie has been well prepared for you. She is such a beautiful little girl and will soon be joining her forever family.
I cannot wait to see you with Sophie.
Love,
Mandi
God IS good indeed!!!! I was thinking about you on my way home from picking Brandon up today. We were talking about our trip to Ohio, via New England states, and I wondered when your trip was. I thought I remembered it being early July, but I was going to check in on you and see.
I am beyond excited for you guys!!! I am already praying, and will continue to do so. Miss Sophie is one blessed little girl, she is about to have her dreams come true BIG time, I can't wait to see her bloom within your family.

So, so exciting Tami! I can imagine you're waking up early on the cusp of something so wonderful :) Lists - I made lots of lists as things piled up in my head to get everything out. We're thinking of you and wishing you wonderful travels. And by the way, I pack the same way you do - works great for me too :)
So excited for you!! Summer will be so fun this year!! Way to go Nathan for making all star!!
Wow, 2 weeks from today you're going to MEET her! Tam! I'm so excited...
Congrats to Nathan on making the team too! :)

Your post, coupled with the beautiful music on your blog, just makes me want to cry!!
It's almost here, and the anticipation on your side AND hers almost leaves me breathless!
It's all so "right", and I'm so looking forward to following your trip!
And in case it makes you feel better - I'm a "night before" packer too. Always kills me when people ask me a week before I go somewhere "are you all packed?" NO, because I don't have any clean clothes to pack, and my house is a mess yet, and my kids have 500 activities yet to be hauled to. I so understand. Don't worry, you'll get it all done!
Love ya!

Tami,
I have been seriously out of the loop lately! First off, I am shocked schools just got out up there. Our schools down here have been out for almost a month. So crazy how different things are and we still live in the same country! Second, I can't believe you guys are leaving in two weeks! It has all happened so quickly and I know how you feel about not being able to sleep and waking up with a things to do list running through your mind. I do the same thing and will know of many ways and things to pray for you. I am also a last minute packer, for the same reasons you listed. I just don't have that many clothes to put them in a suitcase and still have something to wear at home.
I will be praying for you and your family in the next coming weeks. Remember that the Lord has been in control of this whole thing from the very beginning and will certainly see it through. Everything will get done and Sophie will be with her family very soon. Thank you for sharing your lives and story with all of us.
Much love to you and your family!
Robyn
PS Congrats Nathan. That is awesome!
I am SOOO excited for you. What a beautiful quilt~ I can't wait to see Sophie's new room. I'm even more excited to see you holding your girl.
